I think that this quote is actually the definition of a pessimist, and I think that a pessimist is different than a cynic. I think that cynicism can and is most often somewhat founded, even if it does keep people from doing that which would be good for them because of their cynicism. They aren't willing to over come those risks. A pessimist pisses on everything no matter what.
